storefrontART is our residency and exhibition that creatively uses donated space for art projects, exhibitions and gatherings. storefrontART has four components:
1. workSPACE uses donated space as studio space for special projects. Artists use the space to create a wide range of work, including visual art, writing, movement, performance and theater. workSPACE is available to project based residencies, typically culminating in an exhibition or performance event.
2. windowSPACE uses donated space to exhibit art. A wide range of work is featured in windowSPACE, including visual art, video and film, installation and performance.
3. artHAPPENINGS are quarterly cabaret-style events in vacant storefronts, urban spaces and community oriented businesses; they bring people together to celebrate art, local artists and the communities that support them. They feature the work of several artists in different media, such as visual art, performance and music. artHAPPENINGS typicaly coincide with Northampton's Arts Night Out.
4. artSPEAK is programming that engages the community in examination and discussion of contemporary artistic practice. Local and visiting artists and academics facilitate workshops and discussions that examine issues relevant to work being produced both locally and internationally.
